The Gass’ decision to remodel their Belleville, IL home was motivated by the need for an updated kitchen, which was closed off and outdated, and the desire to add a master suite to their home. To create an open floorplan in the kitchen and living room, Fulford Home Remodeling removed part of the wall that was dividing the two areas. Design features for the kitchen included a new island with room for bar seating, new Aristokraft Rustic Birch wood cabinetry with Umber stain, Giallo Verona Granite Countertop, and Armstrong Alterna tile in Durango Bleached Sand coloring. Electrical upgrades included island pendant lights, recessed can lighting, and LED undercabinet task-lighting. Other features that add to this kitchen were the 36” wine rack with stem glass holder below, 30” pantry cabinets with two roll-out trays, glass cabinet doors, and adjustable shelves, and custom ceramic tile backsplash laid in a brick pattern. The overall effect of the dark wood, stainless steel appliances, and sand colored flooring creates a stunning kitchen that the family will enjoy immensely.
