After remodeling an existing deck; this family rehired Spencer Homes Remodeling to complete a “Pergola” atop their new landscaped patio pillars.  Spencer coordinated with AJD Landscaping out of Collinsville, IL and designed a pergola to sit on already existing lower freestanding walls.  Special attention was given to the pillar-footings and the pillars were also glued together to create a solid anchor for the pergola to attach to.  The lumber used for this project was all Grade A red cedar and the the pergola sits approximately seven and a half feet high.  In addition; electricity was added through a conduit to allow for the install of a future fan or lighting.  The pergola became the highlight of this outdoor living area, and the family will be able to enjoy the new addition to their backyard for years to come.
