The decision to have Fulford Home Remodeling renovate this kitchen in Belleville, IL, was driven by the desire to have the kitchen area open to the Family/Fireplace room and front living room, creating a completely open floor plan. Between the front living room and the kitchen was a “load bearing” wall which carried the weight of the second story floor system. The design for the kitchen included an 8’ x 6’ island that divided the two rooms and had two tapered columns integrated into the island that concealed load bearing posts supporting “hidden” arched beams above. The island also featured a custom bookcase facing the living room area. The new design also included a downdraft stove in the island, an under the counter wine fridge, LED can lights controlled by dimmers, and Aristokraft cabinetry in Rustic Birch wood. Nevern Cambria Quartz countertops and Tantrum Glass tile backsplash in Pewter and Earth provided the final touches for this stunning kitchen remodel. Since the construction finished, the Brunworth family has been incredibly happy with their new kitchen and open floor plan.
